Queens Park Rangers Old Boy Eze In Attendance As Fit-Again Onomah Impresses Fulham Coach Parker
Published: January 10, 2021England U21 international of Nigerian parentage Eberechi Eze was in attendance as his former club Queens Park Rangers were beaten 2-0 by Fulham in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.
The Crystal Palace attacking midfielder was invited as a guest of the Hoops and was spotted in the directors' box watching the game.
The Cottagers are through to the fourth round thanks to two quick goals from Bobby Reid and Neeskens Kebano in extra-time.
2017 U20 World Cup winner Josh Onomah made his comeback for Fulham's first team - his first game in over three months after recovering from injury - and gave a good account of himself in 120 minutes of action.
Kebano slammed the ball home in the 108th minute to make sure of the win after a brilliant pass from Onomah.
Fulham boss Scott Parker heaped praise upon the Anglo-Nigerian midfielder after the game, highlighting that he has not lost his physicality despite his spell on the sidelines.
"I didn’t expect the performance in terms of how well he did physically – certainly going into extra time," Parker told Fulham's official website.
"The conditioning guys have done a fantastic job with him to get him to this level. That was his first game for some time and I thought it was the Josh Onomah we’ve got to know so I was very, very pleased.
"He looked powerful and of course, I think we all understand from last year, he’s got quality and I think he’s got a big part to play. Still more to come."
