Chelsea Make Transfer Stance On Talented Nigeria-Eligible Attacking Midfielder
Published: December 26, 2020Chelsea have made a transfer decision on talented Nigeria-eligible attacking midfielder Faustino Anjorin.
According to the reliable Athletic, The Blues will not be loaning out the England youth international during the January transfer window.
A number of Premier League and Championship clubs have made enquiries over the availability of Anjorin just as they did before the close of the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old is inching closer to a first team breakthrough at Chelsea, making five matchday squads since the beginning of the 2019-2020 season and handed game time against Grimsby Town, Everton and Krasnodar.
With Chelsea still competing for honours in three competitions - Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup - manager Frank Lampard is planning to give him more playing opportunities in the second half of the season.
Anjorin has impressed for Chelsea's development squad this term, registering 5 goals in seven appearances combined in the Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy.
The 19-year-old is tied to Chelsea until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
