Published: December 21, 2020Arsenal have held their final training session ahead of Tuesday night's eagerly anticipated Carabao Cup quarterfinal clash against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium in London.
Spanish coach Mikel Arteta monitored at close quarters Nigeria-eligible teenagers Miguel Azeez and Folarin Balogun at London Colney on Monday morning.
The Carabao Cup quarterfinal training session published by Arsenal on their official website showed Balogun and Azeez working out with the first teamers.
Though the aforementioned players have debuted for the Gunners in the group stage of this season's Europa League, they are yet to play an official game for the club in domestic competitions, including the Carabao Cup.
Central midfielder Azeez would fancy his own chances of being included in the matchday squad with Ghana star Thomas Partey and Switzerland ace Xhaka not available for selection due to injury and suspension respectively.
As for Balogun, Arteta confirmed at the pre-match press conference that the striker is in the frame to be named in the squad and he has moved up the pecking order of strikers as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still sidelined with a minor calf issue.
