'It's A Big Game' - Iwobi Targets Man Utd Scalp After Wins Vs Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal
Published: December 20, 2020Everton are aiming to make it four wins on the bounce when they take on Manchester United in the quarterfinal of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, December 23.
Alex Iwobi was one of the protagonists at Everton in their wins against Chelsea, Leicester City and Arsenal, starting all the three matches and bagging an assist in the win at the King Power Stadium.
And before then, the Nigeria international showed that he was good enough to play as a fullback in three matches in a row when the Everton squad was ravaged by injuries, though crossing has not been the best of his attributes.
With the exception of the 3-0 win vs Salford which he missed as a result of a fitness issue, Iwobi has been involved in the other matches played by Everton in the Carabao Cup since he joined Everton in 2019.
"For us to achieve nine points from our recent games against Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal gives us real confidence and belief that we can do the same against any other team," Iwobi said to Everton's official website.
"I’m happy with my contribution and to be creating chances - and it was a great feeling coming back against my old club – but it’s all about the team performance.
"We now turn our attention to Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester United. It’s a big game and another match under the lights at Goodison with 2,000 of our fans cheering us on.
"We’re in competitions to try to win them. We want to win as many as we can, not just for us but for the fans, especially."
