Versatile Defender Tobi Omole Delighted Swapping Arsenal For Tottenham Hotspur
Published: December 20, 2020Young Nigeria-eligible defender Tobi Omole has suggested that he's delighted to swap Arsenal for Tottenham Hotspur.
Omole was surprisingly not offered a new deal by the Gunners at the end of the 2019-2020 season despite being tipped for a first team breakthrough, having trained with the main squad on countless occasions.
Left without a club for three months, he joined Tottenham Hotspur on a one-season deal just before the close of the summer transfer window following a successful trial.
Omole was poached by Arsenal at U14 level after he was spotted playing for local club Thamesmead, rising through the ranks before inking his first professional contract in 2018.
The 21-year-old has showcased his ability to play as a defensive midfielder in his last three appearances for Spurs in the Premier League 2, including Saturday's 4-3 win over Liverpool, and helped the north London club register two away wins.
"Enjoying the new colours 🤞🏿", Omole posted on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of him alongside some of his Spurs teammates including Nigeria-eligible duo Jubril Okedina and Kion Etete.
In his final season at Arsenal, he was involved in eleven matches combined in the Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and Premier League International Cup.
Omole can also be deployed as a left-back should the need arise.
