Anjorin Involved In Four Goals For Chelsea In 6-1 Hammering Of Manchester United U23s
Published: December 18, 2020Faustino Anjorin continues to prove that he is ripe for first-team football with a Man-of-the-Match performance for Chelsea in their 6-1 demolition of Manchester United in a Premier League 2 fixture on Friday afternoon.
The 19-year-old was one of two players of Nigerian descent on show at Kingsmeadow (Kingston upon Thames, Surrey), the other being Manchester United's precocious striker Shola Shoretire.
It took Chelsea less than two minutes to open the scoring thanks to Marcel Lewis with Anjorin providing the assist before Soonsup-Bell made it 2-0 with his first goal at U23 level barely a minute later.
The home team were 3-0 up at the end of the first half; Anjorin smashed home for his first of the afternoon in the 34th minute.
At minute 51, the Anglo-Nigerian attacking midfielder converted a penalty to make it 4-0 after Livramento was fouled in the box.
And he wasn't done yet as he set up Chelsea's sixth goal scored by Charlie Brown, taking his goal contribution to four (2 goals, 2 assists) in the big win against the visitors from Manchester.
Shoretire was yellow carded for committing a foul in the 88th minute, four minutes after the Red Devils got their consolation goal.
