Tottenham's Nigeria-Eligible Striker On A Run Of Scoring In Three Straight Premier League 2 Games
Published: December 07, 2020Nigeria-eligible striker Kion Etete scored for the third consecutive Premier League 2 game as Tottenham Hotspur defeated Blackburn Rovers 3-2 on Monday night, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
This is the first time that the 19-year-old has achieved the feat since joining Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent deal in the summer of 2019.
Having gone five straight matches without finding the net, Etete opened his account for the season against Manchester United on November 22, before making it two goals in two games with his strike vs Leicester City at the end of last month.
Tonight, the former Notts County wonderkid gave Tottenham the lead at Lancashire FA HQ when he tapped home at the back post in the third minute.
Etete came close to adding to his tally but saw his shot deflect wide at minute 16.
The Tottenham Hotspur U23 squad was captained by Jubril Okedina, ex-Arsenal starlet Tobi Omole also featured from the off for the north London team and the duo went the full ninety along with Etete.
Derbyshire-born Etete has stated that it would be an honour to represent Nigeria if his Nigerian dad and English mom give him the green light.
