Manchester United Jewel Shoretire Scores First Ever Goal In Premier League 2 Vs Brighton
Published: November 06, 2020Highly-rated teenager of Nigerian descent Shola Shoretire scored his first-ever goal in the Premier League 2 to help Manchester United thrash Brighton & Hove 5-2 at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre (Lancing, West Sussex) on Friday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Manager Neil Wood set up his team in a 3-5-2 formation, with Shoretire partnering Anthony Elanga in attack.
The first-year scholar was making his fifth appearance for Manchester United U23s in the league since his debut for the age group on the opening day of the season against Leicester City.
Seventeen minutes into the contest, Shoretire doubled Manchester United's advantage as he slotted home from close range after Elanga had blocked down the Seagulls goalkeeper.
United's other scorers were Mejbri, Helm, álvaro Fernández and Arnau Puigmal, while Jensen Weir bagged a brace for the home team.
Shoretire put in a solid ninety-minute shift and was cautioned in the closing minutes of the game.
Fullback Ayo Tanimowo also went the distance for Brighton & Hove.
