Shoretire Plays With Two Manchester United First Team Stars In 2-1 Win Vs Everton U23
Published: October 24, 2020Promising attack-minded player of Nigerian descent Shola Shoretire helped Manchester United pick up three points from their Premier League 2 meeting with Everton at Leigh Sports Village Stadium on Friday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Manager Neil Wood named Shoretire in the starting lineup alongside two first team stars in defenders Marcos Rojo and Brandon Williams, while summer signing from Penarol, Facundo Pellistri also made the teamsheet.
Ellis Simms netted the opening goal on the hour mark and Anthony Elanga struck the equaliser in the 74th minute before Galbraith got the winner from the spot in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time.
Shoretire is still only 16 and eligible to represent the Red Devils in the U18 Premier League but there's every indication that he has promoted to the U23 team as he had not featured for the lower age group in the new season.
The former England U16 captain has now made four appearances for United U23s so far this season of which three were starts.
A first year scholar, Shoretire has been tipped to sign his first professional contract with Manchester United as soon as he turns seventeen next February.
