'He Played For Chelsea, Inter' - Spartak Moscow Star Highlights Quality Of Victor Moses
Published: October 19, 2020Spartak Moscow right-back Andrey Yeshchenko has highlighted the quality of Victor Moses, saying the former Nigeria international has played for some of the top clubs in the world.
The Chelsea loanee would have grabbed most of the headlines if he had scored on his debut against Khimki this past weekend but his 81st minute effort was saved by goalkeeper Lantratov after a slip by Bryan Idowu allowed the Spartak number 8 to run through on goal.
Moses featured for three clubs who have won the UEFA Champions League including Chelsea, Inter Milan and Liverpool before his loan move to Spartak Moscow last week.
Speaking to Ria Sport, former Russia international Yeshchenko said : "If he had scored, it would be great. And for him it would be important. He had a good moment with Jordan (Larsson) making a through pass.
"Victor is a high-quality and strong footballer, he played for Chelsea, Inter. They don't just join such teams."
Moses arrived in the Russian capital on Friday and the following day he was handed his debut off the bench by manager Tedesco.
Yeshchenko went on to reveal that the Chelsea loanee familiarized himself with the team before his maiden appearance as a Spartak player.
"We wished him luck in Spartak, so that everything would be good, that there were no injuries. And before going out on the field, I gave him a parting word, told him not to shake.
"We received him warmly. Moreover, he himself understands everything, he is still not 20 years old.
"I think we'll ask Victor to sing a couple of songs to the team. Perhaps we can figure out which ones."
Victor Moses scored 13 goals in total for his previous loan clubs Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham and Fenerbahce, and notched five assists during his stint with Inter Milan in the second half of last season.
