Chelsea Coach Lampard Runs The Rule Over Anjorin Ahead Of Visit Of Southampton
Published: October 15, 2020Chelsea first-team boss Frank Lampard is running the rule over Poole-born midfielder of Nigerian descent, Faustino Anjorin ahead of his side's English Premier League meeting with Southampton on Saturday, October 17, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The England youth international was spotted training with Chelsea first team players at their Surrey training base on Wednesday, October 14.
Anjorin has yet to make his debut for the Chelsea teams for the 2020-2021 season as he recently recovered from injury.
Former Nigerian Federation targets Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham were also part of the session, informs Chelsea's official website.
It remains to be seen whether Anjorin will be an option for the clash against the Saints with only seven players permitted to be named to the substitutes bench.
The 19-year-old has already shown his quality for Chelsea youth teams, ending last season as the club's top scorer in the Premier League 2 with five goals and captaining the FA Youth Cup side, and his next target is to break into the first team.
Former Arsenal schoolboy Nathan Tella trained with Southampton this week, suggesting that he is in the frame to make the traveling party to London after he was omitted from the squad that beat West Brom in their last game before the international break.
