England Make Move To Beat Nigeria To The Services Of Manchester United Wonderkid
Published: October 10, 2020The English Football Association have made the first move to beat their Nigerian counterparts to the services of highly-rated Manchester United youngster Habeeb Ogunneye.
United youth-team expert jb_8521 has tweeted that Ogunneye has received a call-up to the England U16 squad for a training camp this month.
Ogunneye is in line to make his debut for the age group when they tackle Scotland in a friendly towards the end of the month.
He mainly plays for Manchester United's U15 team but has been widely tipped to break into the U18 squad in the coming years, having recently represented the U17s in the last couple of friendlies, which shows how highly rated he is by the youth team coaches.
Ogunneye is comfortable playing in multiple positions on the right flank and represented the Red Devils in the prestigious Mediterranean International Cup in 2019, before featuring in the PL-ISL Next Generation Mumbai Cup in February 2020.
The English Football Association are also in pole position to secure the international future of another bright United prospect in Shola Shoretire, who has captained the Young Lions at U16 level.
