'Moses Could Have Ended Up In Spartak Last Season' - Ex-Lokomotiv Chief On Chelsea Winger
Published: October 10, 2020Ex-Lokomotiv Moscow chief executive Ilya Gerkus has revealed that Spartak Moscow made an attempt to sign Victor Moses last season but Tomas Zorn wasn't given the green light by the powers that be.
The Chelsea winger shares the same agent as Sweden international Jordan Larsson, who moved to Spartak Moscow from IFK Norrköping in the summer of 2019 .
Spartak Moscow have reignited their interest in the former Nigeria international and he is set to complete his move to the record Russian champions in the coming days, subject to a traditional medical.
Writing on Telegram, Gerkus said on Saturday : "Moses could have ended up in Spartak last season. Last year, when Victor Moses was on loan in Fenerbahce, he already had a chance to move to Spartak.
"After the successful transfer of Jordan Larsson, his agents representing the largest US-Dutch agency Wasserman offered the player on loan. But at that time, Tomas Zorn could not get internal approval for this deal in the club.
He added : "Now Spartak has returned to the idea with Moses. The transfer (if the medical examination is successful and nothing fails, then today it is signed) on a loan basis with the conclusion of a new contract with Spartak on pre-agreed terms".
