'My Game Is Inspired By Zaha' - Ideho On Style Of Play, Why He Chose Arsenal Over Southampton
Published: October 08, 2020English Premier League club Arsenal bolstered their Academy ranks with the capture of exciting Nigerian winger Joel Ideho from Ajax Amsterdam in the last few days of the summer transfer window.
Quoted as being pacy and accurate, Ideho has revealed that he models his game after Crystal Palace's Ivorian winger Wilfried Zaha.
The former Willem II wonderkid interested Southampton and Hertha BSC before agreeing terms with Arsenal.
When asked why he chose the Gunners over the Saints and Bundesliga club, Ideho told allnigeriasoccer.com :"Arsenal had a strong and better plan for me than the other clubs and I personally think I will develop better at Arsenal than the other clubs.
"I would say that my game is inspired by Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace because he's a creative player with fast pace.
"My strengths would be my pace and my actions one-v-one".
Ideho's professional contract with Arsenal will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until at least the end of the 2022-2023 season.
