'He'll Be A Great Asset For Us' - Wycombe Boss Admits Everton's Adeniran Was Signed To Replace Ofoborh
Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth has admitted that Everton-owned midfielder Dennis Adeniran was signed as a replacement for former Flying Eagles star Nnamdi Ofoborh.

Ofoborh had a successful loan spell with the Chairboys in the 2019-2020 campaign, helping them secure promotion to the Championship via the playoffs but has now returned to his parent club Bournemouth.

A day after Adeniran's season-long loan move was confirmed, the former England U17 international of Nigerian descent made his full Championship debut, going the distance as Wycombe suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Swansea City.

Despite the loss, the Everton loanee has been praised for his performance against the Welsh outfit.

Speaking post-match, Ainsworth was quoted as saying by Bucks Free Press : "We wanted Nnamdi [Oforboh] back but it looks like he’s sticking around at Bournemouth, so we’ve struggled with that defensive midfielder position.

"But Dennis came in and in the second-half, he looked like he had been playing league football all his life.

"For someone to come and take that into his stride and have a Championship performance like that is very good for the future.

"Second-half, he looked like he had been playing with us for a long time and you can tell he has played at a high level. He’ll be a great asset for us."

Prior to today's game at Adams Park, Adeniran's other appearance in the Championship was as a substitute during his days with Fulham, back in the 2016-2017 season.
