First half goals from Aboubakar Kamara and Bobby De Cordova-ReidĀ  secured a win for Scott Parker's team.

At the Bet365 Stadium, Mikel Obi was not in the Stoke City side that earned a 1-0 win against Gillingham thanks to Tyrese Campbell's 37th minute strike. John Akinde went the distance for the League One side.

At Highbury Stadium, Alex Iwobi put in arguably his best performance in an Everton shirt with a goal and assist to help the Toffees register a 5-2 win against Fleetwood Town.

Making his first start of the season, the Super Eagles playmaker provided the assist for Everton's second goal scored by Richarlison; back-heeling the ball to the Brazilian who rifled home in the 34th minute.

Four minutes into the second half, the Nigerian opened his account for the season, converting a cutback to push Everton's advantage to 3-1.

Everton's other scorers were Bernard and Moise Kean, while Mark Duffy and Callum Camps found the net for Fleetwood Town. The Nigerian went the full 90.

At the King Power Stadium, it was another Cup victory for Arsenal, this time beating Leicester City 2-0 courtesy of a Fuchs own goal at minute 57 and Eddie Nketiah's strike on the strike of ninety minutes.

Bukayo Saka started and was in action for 87 minutes, Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho played the full game and his teammate Wilfred Ndidi wasn't in the 18 due to a groin complaint.

At Stamford Bridge, former Chelsea trialist Victor Adeboyejo was an unused substitute for Barnsley in their 6-0 loss to the Blues.

Tammy Abraham, Kai Havertz (3), Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud with the goals for a Frank Lampard team without the young exciting winger Faustino Anjorin.
