'Iwobi Had Better Leave Everton' - Nigerian Fans React To Winger's Absence Vs Tottenham
Published: September 13, 2020Alex Iwobi was conspicuously missing from Everton's matchday squad as the Toffees began their 2020/2021 Premier League season with a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Ā His absence has fueled speculations that the Super Eagle might not find it easy breaking into his side's front three which contained Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and James Rodriguez at the London Stadium.
The Nigerian has contributed little in terms of goals and assists since his big-money move to Everton from Arsenal on the final day of the summer transfer window in 2019.
While Lucas Digne set up Calvert-Lewin with an inswinging cross for the winner, below are some of the things fans had to say on Twitter about Iwobi's absence from the affair.
@diaran_aji: Just wondering the future of Alex Iwobi in this Everton team.....
@pauly1878: Iwobi will struggle to make the Everton bench, he's not PL standard unfortunately. He's never going to be a starter from now on. Allan is defensive midfielder, Iwobi isn't, he's never going to start ahead of him or Doucoure. Wouldn't be surprised to see Iwobi loaned out
@moustea00: Iwobi would need to up his game to get a snif of this Everton team. And when I say up his game, I mean Swansea Michu up . #EPL
@odabiprecious1: I feel sad for Iwobi. Man is definitely out of the Everton starting lineup for the forseeable futureš„
@unclevee: Iwobi better start finding a new home cos e be like say dem wan evict am from Everton
@chineduanaz: Iwobi had better leave Everton. He stands no chance in this squad.
@sdhikrullahi: Who else is going to advise Iwobi to leave Everton, I don't see where he is needed at the moment, Davies and Sigurdson on bench with Walcott and Keane
@celestineceeman: Iwobi will need to up his game if he wants to break into this Everton team I'm seeing ooo
@knedved007: #toteve is a great game to watch, this Everton is really playing well... My advice for Iwobi is to play better or look for another team .
