Napoli's Hat-trick Hero Victor Osimhen Yet To Be Assigned Shirt Number
Published: August 29, 2020Victor Osimhen impressed on his non-competitive debut for Napoli as they demolished L'Aquila Calcio 1927 11-0 in a three-team tournament also involving Castel di Sangro and on Friday.
The Nigeria international endeared himself to Napoli fans by scoring a hat-trick in less than ten minutes and provided two assists for Hirving Lozano.
The Blues' other scorers against L'Aquila were Dries Mertens, Faouzi Ghoulam and Lorenzo Insigne.
President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed shortly after the signing of Osimhen that he would wear the number 9 shirt for the upcoming season, but the Super Eagles star sported the number 15 in his maiden appearance as a player of Napoli.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Osimhen has not been assigned an official squad number yet and only decided to use the number 15 yesterday.
The 21-year-old is planning to pick a shirt number after the pre-season preparations.
