Chelsea Highlight Victor Moses' Pedigree In The Europa League Ahead Of Sevilla Vs Inter Milan
Published: August 19, 2020Chelsea have highlighted Victor Moses's pedigree in the UEFA Europa League ahead of Friday's showpiece between Inter Milan and Sevilla at the RheinEnergieStadion (Köln).
The official website of Chelsea has reviewed Inter's comprehensive 5-0 win against Shakhtar Donetsk in the semifinals and noted that the former Nigeria international won the competition with the Blues seven years ago.
The first time Chelsea won the Europa League in 2013, only Fernando Torres (6) scored more than Moses (4) in the competition and the Spaniard spent 384 more minutes on the pitch.
Moses held the club record for scoring in consecutive matches in the Europa League until it was broken by French World Cup winner Olivier Giroud in February 2019.
"The Nigerian played the final 10 minutes in Dusseldorf, during which time Romelu Lukaku scored his second goal of the night and Inter's fifth. Moses, as was the case in Inter's victory over Bayer Leverkusen, came on at right-back," Chelsea wrote.
"Three-time UEFA Cup winners in the 1990s, Inter will meet Sevilla on Friday in Cologne. It will be their 10th European final, but the first time they have met the Spanish side in competition.
"For Moses, it is a chance to win the Europa League for the second time, having done so at Chelsea in 2013. "
