Anjorin Stays Back In England As 23 Chelsea Players Land In Germany Pre-Bayern Munich
Published: August 07, 2020Anglo-Nigerian midfielder cum winger Faustino Anjorin will not make his Champions League debut when Chelsea take on Bayern Munich in a round of 16, second leg clash at the Allianz Arena (München) on Saturday evening, starting from 2000 hours, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The England U19 international has presumably stayed back in England as he was not among the 23 Chelsea players that landed in Munich this evening.
Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Lewis Bate, Henry Lawrence and Armando Broja have been selected in the squad ahead of Anjorin.
The 18-year-old Nigeria-eligible player trained with Chelsea's first team after the resumption of football activities in May, but was not selected for their last nine domestic fixtures prior to the end of the season.
Though Anjorin missed out on Chelsea's Champions League List A, he's still eligible to represent the Blues in the competition via the List B as he has been on the books of the club for almost ten years and is an U21 player.
He made his professional debut for the Stamford Bridge outfit in a League Cup clash against Grimsby Town last September, before making his Premier League debut off the bench in March and was an unused substitute vs Liverpool in the FA Cup.
