Leicester's Ndidi Narrowly Misses Out As Bournemouth's Rico Wins EPL Top Interceptor Prize
Leicester City holding midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has missed out on the top interceptor accolade in the English Premier League for the 2019-2020 season.

Football statistics website Whoscored.com has confirmed that Bournemouth's Spanish left-back Diego Rico racked up the most interceptions in the recently concluded season - 84 in total from 27 games.

Ndidi comes in second with 80 interceptions spread across 32 matches, ahead of Chris Basham (Sheffield United), Jan Bednarek (Southampton) and Declan Rice (West Ham United).

The Nigeria international was ranked the second best tackler (128) following the conclusion of the season, behind Manchester United fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka (129).

Over the course of the season, the Foxes number 25 averaged 2.5 interceptions per game, bettered only by the Cherries defender who averaged 3.1 interceptions every match.

Ndidi was Leicester City's stat leader in interceptions with 83 and third overall during the 2018-2019 season.
