'It Doesn't Help The Spirit Of The Team' - Ikpeba Pinpoints What Went Wrong For Watford
Published: July 28, 2020Former African Footballer of the Year, Victor Ikpeba believes that the frequent managerial changes did not help Watford's cause during the 2019-2020 season.
The Hornets, who once had Odion Ighalo in their ranks and presently pay the wages of Super Eagles striker Isaac Success and Olympic Eagles midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru, were relegated from the Premier League after they were beaten at Arsenal.
Ikpeba pointed out that there was no stability at Watford with the owners appointing four different managers - Javi Gracia, Quique Sanchez-Flores, Nigel Pearson and Hayden Mullins - in the recently concluded season.
Speaking on Super Sport's Monday Night Football monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com, Ikpeba said : "Going down to the Championship, this is a club badly managed, hardly organized, no respect for the managers and they've made life difficult for the players.
"I just want to tell you my experience. As a player when you know your manager is going to be sacked after 10 games, psychologically it's so crazy for the players.

Success struggled with injuries for most part of the Premier League campaign, finishing with only five appearances, while Tom Dele-Bashiru was an unused substitute in four games.
