Published: July 21, 2020Through a statement on their official website, English Premier League giants Manchester United have announced their new intake of Academy scholars for the 2020-2021 season.
Eight promising teenagers will begin the new season as first-year scholars at the Old Trafford outfit.
As exclusively reported by allnigeriasoccer.com more than six months ago, Anglo-Nigerian striker Shola Shoretire is among the eight players previously classed as U16 players offered scholarship deals.
The 2004-born player is already a key player for Manchester United U18s, making 13 appearances in total in the U18 Premier League, including nine starts, over the course of the curtailed Academy season.
Shoretire also represented the Red Devils in the U18 Premier League Cup and FA Youth Cup, scoring in matches against Leicester City, Brighton & Hove and Wigan Athletic.
Shoretire, who is the youngest player to debut for Manchester United in the UEFA Youth League aged 14 years and 314 days, has played non-competitive matches for England at U15 and U16 levels.
