Ola Aina's weekly earnings may be slashed by fifteen percent according to reports emanating from the Italian press.
Italian journalist and transfer market expert Nicolò Schira has tweeted that Italian Serie A clubs are planning to cut footballers wages by 15-30 percent in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
For
players earning more than €1.5 million per season, their wages will be
reduced by 30 percent and by fifteen percent if the player earns less
than €1.5m.
Italian clubs want to minimize losses by saving €250 million with a potential loss of €1 billion.
Former
Chelsea wing-back Aina pockets one million euros per season or
€19,230.77 every week, meaning his wages will be slashed by €2,884.62
per week (approximately N1.17 million).
The
Nigeria national-teamer completed a permanent transfer to Torino last
summer and has featured in 25 games across all competitions this season.
Udinese pair William Troost-Ekong and
Stefano Okaka, Inter Milan's Victor Moses, Lazio's Bobby Adekanye
currently represent clubs in the Italian top-flight.
The
Italian Serie A was suspended after the 26th round with Juventus
topping the table with 63 points ahead of Lazio and Inter Milan who have
62 points and 54 points respectively.
