Former Chelsea star Loic Remy is relishing his strike partnership with Victor Osimhen and has stressed that they work for each other on the pitch.
Remy and Osimhen have scored 27 goals between them in all competitions this season, with the Nigeria international having 16 goals to his name.
The Frenchman listed the attributes of Osimhen and has admitted that he was particularly impressed by the pace and athleticism of the Super Eagles attacker.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Friday's Ligue 1 meeting with Angers SCO, Remy was quoted as saying by L'Equipe : "When I am brought to play with him in peak, I feel a form of complementarity.
"He is athletic and goes fast. He fights on all the balls. I was going fast (laughs). Less now. I feel comfortable with a second striker.
"With a certain game intelligence, I manage to create spaces for myself on the move. For the moment, it is a good association. "
Remy noted that Osimhen flourished when he was deployed as a lone striker, before manager Christopher Galtier tinkered with his formation.
"But Victor played more single-handed matches and he did it very well. I spoke with the coach. He told me he had this cutting edge duo in mind. Against Nîmes (2-2) and Strasbourg, it had worked rather well,'' he concluded.
Osimhen and Remy are among four players classed as strikers named in Lille's provisional 19-man group for tomorrow's match against Angers at Stade Raymond-Kopa.
