Nigeria's all-time leading scorer in Major League Soccer history, Fanendo Adi is up and running at his new club Columbus Crew after opening his goalscoring account in yesterday's 4-1 win against San Jose Earthquakes in a pre-season friendly staged in Cancún, Mexico, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The former Super Eagles invitee broke the deadlock in the 30th minute and further goals from Pedro Santos, Jordan Hamilton and Derrick Etienne Jr gave Columbus Crew a comprehensive victory.
The game was played in four quarters of thirty minutes each and Adi was named in the starting line-up.
About a week ago, Columbus Crew confirmed that they have selected the Nigerian off Major League Soccer's Waiver List in a deal that sees him reunited with his former coach at Portland Timbers, Caleb Porter.
Adi and his teammates will be given two days off February 7-9 before their trip to Arizona for a training camp which will run from February 10-23.
The Crew will face Sporting Kansas City in their next friendly on Feb 12, before games against Phoenix Rising FC (Feb 15), New York Red Bulls (Feb 19) and Houston Dynamo (Feb 22).
