Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that Tyronne Ebuehi is unlikely to leave Portuguese setup Benfica before the close of the winter transfer market in the country on February 2.
Signed from ADO Den Haag in July 2018, the right-back is still waiting to make his competitive debut for Benfica's first team after recovering from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that kept him on the sidelines for the whole of last season.
A number of European clubs had enquired about loaning Ebuehi only for Benfica to turn down the approaches.
The Dutch-born defender has continued to build up his match fitness by playing for Benfica's U23 squad in the Liga Revelacao and the B team in the Liga Pro.
With the exception of the Super Eagles friendly against Brazil in which he was handed a late call-up as a replacement for Kenneth Omeruo, Ebuehi has not been invited to the national team since the end of the 2018 World Cup.
He has a contract with Benfica until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
