Izuchukwu Okosi examines the five things noted in Nigeria's 1-0 win over Tunisia on Wednesday evening.
1.Etebo's Free Kicks Were Poor
Oghenekaro Etebo headed away the ball off the line which would have taken the game into extra time but it was his free kicks that infuriated Nigerians.
The ball went straight to Tunisia goalkeeper easily while his teammates hovered in the Tunisian box.
2.The Full Backs Had A Good Match
The duo of Ola Aina and Jamilu Collins were willing outlets for Nigeria to launch attacking play. The performances were great but the coaches must remind them of their primary responsibilities.
3. Uzoho's Commanding Performance
Francis Uzoho made his AFCON debut on Wednesday and had a good performance.
The goalkeeper commanded his area and dealt with crosses very well but his ball distribution needs improvement.
4.Too Many Games For A Tired Ndidi
Leicester City star man Wilfred Ndidi has been spectacular for club and country in the past one year.
But it seems the many games is now taking its toll on the defensive midfielder. He was yellow carded on Wednesday evening and was apparently leggy. The holidays after Nigeria's AFCON campaign will do him a world of good.
5.Chukwueze Can Play In Central Midfield
The Villarreal winger starts on the left side of attack but inadvertently drifts infield when the opposition's left back position are covered.
Chukwueze hit a 63rd minute shot which wasn't far from target in central midfield and equally helped won balls. That indicates that he can a do a job in the attacking midfield in addition to his wing play.
