The Super Eagles of Nigeria ended their AFCON 2019 campaign with 1-0 victory over Tunisia in a third-place match on Wednesday evening.
Delighted Nigerian fans singled out Odion Ighalo, Francis Uzoho and Samuel Kalu for special praise following their fine display against the North Africans.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
@Omojuwa: "Odion Ighalo's got 5 goals now. Is there any Senegalese or Algerian player on 4 goals?"
@SSE_NGA: "Odion Ighalo has scored five goals at #AFCON2019 . No Nigerian has scored more in a single edition of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. #TUNNGR #SoarSuperEagles"
@LvvrdC: "Okay let me analyse this for the Algerians Nigeria will celebrate after wining 3rd place while Algeria will cry when they lose 2 0 to senegal tomorrow Ighalo will win Golden boot to #TUNNGR"
@GoalcomNigeria: "Will five goals be enough to earn Odion Ighalo #AFCON2019 Golden Boot"
@Bimpsy_: "Give Samuel Kalu the man of the match already #TUNNGR"
@CruscioComedy: "So we have Kalu since and we're just using him??? #NGRTUN #TUNNGR"
@Ebuka: "We really missed Samuel Kalu sha. Kai!!!! Good to see him back"
@DanielCapable: "# TUNNGR So why didn't we play 19 years in goal all the while?? "
@KrillzCollins: "Dear Super Eagles.. No matter how many times you break our hearts We ll always love you Yours Lovely Nigerians # TUNNGR"
@AdAmX_79: "In my opinion, this team won't have lost to Algeria but in all: * Aina & Chukuweze are outstanding * Uzoho exudes too much confidence for his age *Ighalo clearly our best striker * Osimhen lacks positioning and poor technically *Ndidi & Iwobi .."
@shittuweezi: "Uzoho showing the confidence that Akpeyi has lacked so far. Maybe we were too quick to criticize the man. #AFCON2019"
@BelieveAllCom: "Dear Uzoho , LETTER OF RECOGNITION: I paid keen attention while watching the game verse Tunisia of which u were in the middle of the poll. You looked more composed for Like the position unlike ur counterpart, Akpeyi. Thanks for your effort. #TUNNGR #NGATUN"
