Super Eagles Playmaker Iwobi Breaks Silence For The First Time After Defeat To Algeria
Published: July 16, 2019Super Eagles playmaker Alex Iwobi has taken to his Instagram page to rue Nigeria's 2-1 defeat to Algeria in Sunday's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations semifinals battle at the Cairo International Stadium but assured Nigerian football faithful that there are still good days ahead.
Iwobi's post quite naturally got the attentions and reactions from friends and fans least of all his national teammate, Ahmed Musa, and Adebayo Akinfewa
"We Fought Our Hardest But It Just Wasn't To Be...," Iwobi stated.
"I Thank You All The Nigeria Fans That Have Supported Us Through The Journey , The Future Is Bright & There’s Defo Still More To Come 🦅N."
Akinfenwa expressed his joy with Iwobi's impact while Musa just posted a series of emojis.
Iwobi played a total of 51 games in all competitions throughout the 2018/19 campaign, scoring six and assisting nine goals along the way.
