Exciting Winger Amaechi May Quit Arsenal After Europa League Final Snub
Published: June 02, 2019England youth international of Nigerian descent, Xavier Amaechi may quit Arsenal in the summer after he was snubbed by manager Unai Emery in the Europa League final against Chelsea last Wednesday.
Football.London says the Gunners are facing up to the increasingly likely prospect that Xavier Amaechi will not sign a new contract at the club after head coach Unai Emery snubbed the winger from his Europa League final bench.
Amaechi trained with the first team in the days leading up to the match and was named in the 24-man provisional squad that traveled to Baku, Azerbaijan.
There was confusion just before the game started as Arsenal made a correction to their bench, Deyan Iliev was named as replacement for the 18-year-old, who who was originally listed among the 12 substitutes.
The exciting winger is attracting interest from Bundesliga and La Liga clubs, with Bayern Munich in pole position for his signature if he quits the Emirates.
His contract with Arsenal runs out at the end of the 2019-2020 season.
