Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi has retained his position as the most expensive Nigerian player, according to the latest transfer market values published by CIES Football Observatory.
The first CIES Weekly Post 2019 presents the 100 big-5 league (Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1) players with the highest transfer value and Iwobi is the most valuable Nigerian player at €55.2 million.
The Hale End Academy product is at the top of the list ahead of Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi (€55 million) and out of favour Chelsea winger Victor Moses (€24.0 million).
Iwobi's market value is at an all-time high of €55.2 million on the back of his recent string of fine performances for the Gunners which saw him have a hand in three goals in his last four Premier League matches before the cut-off date.
Udinese star William Troost-Ekong is Nigeria's most expensive defender at €8.5 million while Villarreal's Samuel Chukwueze remains the most valuable Nigerian teenager.
