Super Eagles Left Back Collins Passed Fit Ahead Of AFCONQ Vs South Africa
Published: November 09, 2018Nigeria international Jamilu Collins has been passed fit to represent Paderborn in their 2 Bundesliga clash against Holstein Kiel at Benteler-Arena on Friday evening.
There had been doubts over the fitness of Collins coming into this game following his injury-related substitution in the 79th minute of their 2-0 loss at MSV Duisburg on November 3.
The left back has been included in the starting line-up by manager Baumgart for the 13th successive game in the German second-tier against Holstein Kiel.
Collins has been struggling with an ankle injury for several weeks and got injured again last Saturday.
If the 24-year-old comes through today's game unscathed, then he has to report for international duty in Asaba by Monday next week.
Nigeria will be without Odion Ighalo, Francis Uzoho and Abdullahi Shehu for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on November 17, with the three players ruled out injured.
