Three players of Nigerian descent have been included in the latest Republic of Ireland U17 squad list announced on Monday, November 6.
Manchester City defender Timi Sobowale, Derby County striker Festy Ebosele and Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, who will complete his move to the Citizens in 2019, have been named in the 21-player roster by manager Colin O'Brien.
As part of their preparations for next summer's UEFA Under-17 European Championships, the Irish are hosting a four-team Under-17 International Tournament involving Ireland, England, Czech Republic and Germany.
The Dundalk-born Sobowale previously turned out for Ireland at U15 and U16 level and has made seven appearances for Manchester City in this season's U18 Premier League.
He impressed as Republic of Ireland U17s recorded two comprehensive wins against Turkey in September and helped Bazunu to post a shutout on his U17 debut.
Ebosele penned a scholarship with Derby County in the summer and is a regular for their U18 team.
