Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby has named one player in his squad who can win the The Best FIFA Women's Player Of The Year Award in future.
The Swedish manager has highlighted that former Arsenal and Liverpool striker Asisat Oshoala is capable of winning the prestigious accolade on the back of her performances for her Chinese club.
Oshoala, who plies her trade with Dalian Quanjian F.C, was named African Women's Footballer of the Year in 2014, 2016 and 2017 but has not been recognized outside of Africa.
Asked when we’ll have a Nigerian player challenge for The Best FIFA Women's Player award, Dennerby told bunmiblair.blogspot.com : ''I think that we are close, I know that Asisat is performing very well in her club China, last week she scored a hat-trick, I also know her coach.
''Yes of course, we have players that can be at the top list, but I feel we have to work hard, the better the team perform the better the individual can be.''
Oshoala was top scorer in the Chinese Super League in 2017 and is set to represent the Super Falcons at next month's Africa Women Cup of Nations.
