MOTM Iwobi Speaks On Leicester City Penalty Claim, Arsenal's Fantastic Run
Published: October 23, 2018Arsenal and Nigeria winger Alex Iwobi Monday night claims the team's winning mentality under head coach Unai Emery is key reason why the Gunners are on a good run.
Arsenal outclassed Leicester City 3-1 at the Emirates on Monday night, which was their tenth successive win in all competitions.
Iwobi who was awarded the Man of the Match prize spoke to Sky Sports alongside teammate Shokdran Mustafi after the game.
"Leicester had a few chances but we have a winning mentality. We have our strength, we were at our game," Iwobi enthused.
Speaking on the penalty shout when Rob Holding inadvertently touched the ball inside Arsenal's penalty box with Iwobi's international teammate Wilfred Ndidi challenged for the ball.
"Honestly I can't test my memory but it was a bit of luck on our side," Iwobi said with a knowing laughter.
On the team's ten game winning streak, Iwobi stressed that his team's confident play goes beyond the field of play.
"Everybody is confident not just on the field but on the training ground and changing room - the chemistry is working," Iwobi added.
Germany international Mustafi said cheekily: "He's my man as well."
Arsenal's next Premier League game is on Sunday, 28 October against Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park. Before then, they have a fixture in the Europa League with Sporting Lisbon on Thursday.
