Sunderland's Josh Maja, who is eligible to represent Nigeria and England, is the top scoring English striker in the top four divisions in England ahead of the next round of matches.
According to data from our colleagues at Playmakerstats the former Super Eagles invitee has outscored Tottenham Hotspur's England captain Harry Kane, Manchester City's Raheem Sterling, West Bromwich Albion's Dwight Gayle, Tranmere Rovers' James Norwood and Exeter's Jayden Stockley.
Spurs striker Kane is the highest scoring Englishman in the Premier League with 5 goals, Gayle has netted 8 times for the Baggies in the second-tier, one less than Sunderland's Maja.
Maja has shown that he is a penalty box predator, scoring all his nine goals in the division from inside the box, with eight coming from open play and one from a dead-ball situation.
The 19-year-old netted in his first four games of the 2018-19 season against Charlton, Luton Town, Scunthorpe United and Gillingham FC, before finding the net against Fleetwood, Rochdale (2), Peterborough United and Bradford.
The London-born Maja has started all the 12 games played by the Black Cats in the League One, logging 970 minutes.
