Cardiff City Boss Bitterly Disappointed Not To Sign Nigerian Striker From Chelsea
Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has taken a swipe at Chelsea after an unsuccessful attempt to sign England U21 star of Nigerian descent, Tammy Abraham, in the summer transfer window.

Warnock is unhappy over the manner in which Chelsea handled his request to sign Abraham on a season-long loan as they never got back to him, only for the striker to join Aston Villa before the close of the loan window on August 31.

''I was really disappointed they didn’t even come back to me. I thought I at least deserved a phone call saying 'sorry Neil, he’s not joining','' Warnock said to Standard Sport.

''It might have been because our deadline was three weeks before the Championship’s. Perhaps they weren’t sure at the time and then he ends up leaving at the end of the month, when only a move to a Championship club is possible.

''But even then, a phone call would have been better and shown a bit of class.''

Neil Warnock added that the Bluebirds were willing to meet the loan fee Chelsea would have asked for and Abraham was guaranteed playing time if the transfer had gone through.

The 20-year-old previously spent time on loan at Bristol City and Swansea City.
