A round-up of Nigerian players that were in action for their respective clubs in the English Premier League on Saturday, August 25th.

Nigerian players with dual nationalities and have played competitively for the senior national teams of other countries have been omitted.

In the early kick off at the Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester City played out a dramatic 1-1 draw with Willy Boly and Aymeric Laporte grabbing the goals for their respective sides.

While Wolves Bright Enobakhare was not listed in the hosts 18-man team for the game, neither of Tom Dele-Bashiru or Nathanael Ogbeta were considered for the senior side that traveled to the West Midlands.

At the Vitality Stadium which hosted Bournemouth and their visitors, Everton, the Cherries came roaring back from two goals down to snatch a point 2-2 thanks to goals from Joshua King and Nathan Ake after Theo Walcott and Michael Keane had earlier struck for the visiting side.

Jordon Ibe was introduced in place of Danny Brooks after 64 minutes for Bournemouth while young Nigerian striker, Ademola Lookman missed out on traveling party for the Tofees. Flying Eagles starlet, Nnamdi Oforboh was equally not in the squad for Bournemouth.

Elsewhere, Arsenal brushed aside West Ham 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, with Nigerian international, Alex Iwobi marking his 100-game tally for the club.

The 22-year-old who starred from the off was involved in his side's first goal which leveled up ties before making way for Alexandre Lacazette on resumption of the second period.

Marko Arnautovic netted West Ham's only goal, while Nacho Monreal, Issa Diop (OG) and Danny Welbeck got the other goals of the game.

Over to the John Smith's Stadium and it was a case of no victor, no vanquished for Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City who stuttered to a goalless draw.

Danish-born midfielder of Nigerian descent, Philip Billing was on from start to finish for the Terriers here.

At the St Mary's Stadium, a stoppage time winner from Harry Maguire gave Leicester City a 2-1 win over Southampton.

Both sides had earlier traded goals through Ryan Bertrandand Demarai Gray  before Maguire's 90th minute effort gave the Foxes their second league win of the season.

Super Eagles stars Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho both started for the visiting team and while Ndidi lasted the entirety of the game, Iheanacho, who struggled, came off for Marc Albrighton after 66 minutes.

And finally in the late league match up at Anfield, Leon Balogun makes his full debut for Brighton while there is no place for Dominic Solanke and Sheyi Ojo in the Liverpool squad.
