Arsenal edged Aston Villa 4-2 in their U18 Premier League opening game held at the Shenley Training Centre on Saturday afternoon.

As many as three Nigerian youngsters tasted action for Arsenal with Mazeed Ogungbo and Folarin BalogunĀ  starting for the hosts while Daniel Oyegoke hopped off the bench in place Matthew Dennis after 39 minutes.

Netherlands youth international of Nigerian descent, Colin Odutayo who started amongst the substitutes for Villa took to the field when he came on for Aaron Presley six minutes past the hour mark.

England U17 star Balogun opened the scoring for the Young Gunners with barely four minutes on the clock.

The teenager will also get on the scoresheet himself in the 26th minute after creating space to curl home a fine solo goal.

Shortly after Odutayo threatened a comeback for the visitors with a goal of his to restore parity in the 86th minute, Balogun who had been the tormentor-in-chief for the opposition set up Taylor-Hart for 3-2 before calming nerves with another late goal for Arsenal.

Kwame Ampadu's side will travel to the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre for their next league game against Brighton on 18th.
