Former Nigeria international Michael Emenalo, who is in charge of recruitment at Monaco, has sanctioned the transfer of 2017 England U17 World Cup-winning central defender Jonathan Panzo.
The Ligue I club have confirmed on their official website that they have captured the highly-rated defender on undisclosed terms from English Premier League side Chelsea.
According to various reports in France, Panzo was on the wishlist of several European giants not limited to Borussia Mönchengladbach, FC Valencia and Frankfurt, but Monaco sporting director Michael Emenalo has convinced him to join the club.
The former Super Eagles left-back knows all about the qualities of Panzo as the player was on the books of Chelsea for nine years.
Last season, the defender won the U18 Premier League, U18 Premier League Cup, U18 Premier South League and FA Youth Cup with Chelsea.
Emenalo, who is regarded as one of the top talent spotters in the world right now, has overseen the arrivals of teenagers Tiago Ribeiro (Porto), Eliot Matazo (Anderlecht), Willem Geubbels (Lyon) and Robert Navarro (Barcelona) to Monaco in the summer transfer window.
