Victor Moses Devastated Over Nigeria's World Cup Exit, Hails Teammates
Published: June 27, 2018Chelsea star Victor Moses has expressed disappointment after the Super Eagles crashed out of the 2018 World Cup but has praised his teammates for working hard.
Argentina booked their place in the knockout rounds following their hard-fought 2-1 win over Nigeria in St. Petersburg on Tuesday night.
If Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir had awarded a second penalty to Nigeria in the 75th minute, it could have been a completely different story.
Nigeria were organized for a long period of time in the second half until the 86th minute when Manchester United's Marcos Rojo netted the winner for Argentina.
''To say I am devastated would be an understatement. The boys gave absolutely everything and I wish it could have led to us going through,'' Moses posted on Twitter.
''I am proud to be a part of this team though and I proud to be Nigerian. Thank you to the whole country for the incredible support. ❤️🇳🇬.''
Moses, who attended his second World Cup in Russia, started all three matches played by the Super Eagles.
