Obi Mikel : Super Eagles Fast Players Will Threaten Argentina
Published: June 26, 2018John Obi Mikel believes Argentina will receive the same treatment as Iceland when they tackle the two-time world champions in their last Group D fixture in St Petersburg this evening.
The Super Eagles got their World Cup campaign back on a track thanks to their 2-0 win over Iceland last Friday, and it is interesting to recall that both goals scored by Musa were from quick counter-attacks.
Victor Moses, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Oghenekaro Etebo are some of the players that help the Super Eagles thrive in their passing game.
''We have a good mix in the team, players that can hold the ball and players that are really fast,'' Mikel told fifa.com
''Ahmed Musa brought speed for us in the last game and it helped us to succeed. Hopefully, we can keep on playing like this because this is what we always wanted."
Barcelona's Argentina skipper Lionel Messi and Leicester City's Musa both netted a brace the last time the two teams met in a competitive match in 2014.
