Bayern Munich France Star Ahead Of Potential Meeting Vs Nigeria : They Are A Good Team
Published: June 24, 2018Bayern Munich's France international Corentin Tolisso has revealed that the 1998 world champions must not lose to Denmark in their final group match to avoid meeting with Croatia, who are favored to top Group D, in the last sixteen of the World Cup.
The Super Eagles are odds on to finish second in Group D going by their last performance against Iceland, and they could well face France in the second round for the second time in successive tournaments.
''From what we have seen, Croatia stands out. We should especially not finish second to avoid them,'' Tolisso said at Sunday's press conference.
''Argentina or Nigeria are good teams. The Argentinians have great individual players like Messi and that can be complicated. The last sixteen is necessarily complicated.''
Born in Tarare, eastern France 23 years ago, Corentin Tolisso was eligible to represent the Togolese national team before making his competitive debut for Les Bleus against Bulgaria in October 2017.
Didier Deschamps' side secured a place in the second round after wins against Australia and Peru.
