Rohr Reveals The Number Of Points Super Eagles Need To Qualify For Last Sixteen
Published: June 17, 2018Coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that the Super Eagles cannot afford to lose any of their last two Group D fixtures at the 2018 World Cup, saying that they need at least four points to qualify for the last sixteen.
Nigeria are playing catch-up after the opening matches in the group following their 2-0 loss to Croatia on Saturday, however, the German has insisted that qualification is still in their hands.
''It is important to make at least four points if you want to qualify, we are only one point behind for the moment, nothing is lost, all is our hands, so let's be positive and believe we can do it,'' Rohr stated.
''We have the youngest team in the World Cup, let them learn from this match and try to do better.
''We saw the good game of Iceland against Argentina, very strong team. We know that they are able to do very well, we also can do better than we did today.''
Nigeria will take on Iceland at the Volgograd Arena, Volgograd on June 22 before wrapping up group play against Argentina in Saint Petersburg four days later.
