Nigerian Midfielder Shows Tottenham They Were Wrong To Release Him, Scores Brace
Published: March 25, 2018Nigerian midfielder Moroyin Omolabi is proving to Tottenham Hotspur that they were wrong to release him, after netting a brace for Reading in their 4-1 rout of Norwich City in the U18 Premier League on Saturday, March 24.
The London club ended their association with the versatile midfielder at the end of February, paving the way for him to join a new team before the end of this season.
Omolabi might have won himself a contract at Reading on the back of his imperious display against the Canaries at Hogwood Park Training Ground.
The Royals were 2-1 up at the end of the first half, before the 18-year-old Nigerian doubled their advantage in the 58th minute, then he closed the scoring with two minutes remaining.
Samuel Faniyan played the last nine minutes against Norwich, his sixth appearance this term in the U18 Premier League, while Omolabi put in a full shift.
Omolabi's first goal in the U18 Premier League was scored in October against West Ham United.
