Poland Deploy 3-4-2-1 Formation Vs Nigeria: Lewandowski, Ex-Arsenal GK, West Brom & Hull City Stars Start
Published: March 22, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Poland coach Adam Nawalka has already decided his starting line-up that will face Nigeria at the Municipal Stadium on Friday night, barring any unforeseen developments.
Based on their two workouts at the old Śląsk Wrocław stadium, Oporowska street, Nawalka has opted to deploy an unpopular 3-4-2-1 formation against the Super Eagles.
This formation is rather untested and they have not used it except during their friendlies in November 2017 against Uruguay and Mexico in which they failed to score any goal.
They will start the friendly against Nigeria with three central defenders, four midfielders of which two are flank midfielders, two attacking midfielders with one of them being a winger and a lone striker upfront.
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has gotten the nod between the sticks, while the three central defenders are Thiago Cionek (SPAL), Kamil Glik (Monaco) and Michał Pazdan (Legia Warsaw).
The four midfielders are Łukasz Piszczek (Borussia Dortmund), Grzegorz Krychowiak (West Brom), Karol Linetty (Sampdoria) and Maciej Rybus (Lokomotiv Moscow).
Napoli's Piotr Zieliński and Hull City's Kamil Grosicki are the two attacking midfielders, while Bayern Munich goal machine and skipper of the national team Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for goals.
