Published: March 22, 2018One of the biggest Nigerian stars to play in Poland, KS Falubaz Zielona Góra midfielder Martins Ekwueme, is backing the Super Eagles to qualify for the knockout rounds of the 2018 World Cup ahead of Croatia.
The former Legia Warsaw star will not attend tomorrow's game between Nigeria and Poland at the Municipal Stadium in Wrocław because his team have a league game against Piast Żmigród the following day in Zielona Góra but has said that he will watch the game live on television.
Martins, whose brother Ifeanyi Ekwueme played for the Super Eagles, has named the six key players in the current Nigeria squad : Iwobi, Mikel, Ndidi, Iheanacho, Musa and Ighalo.
''I will support both teams. I am happy that Poland will face Nigeria. This is the first clash of these teams in history, important for all my compatriots who live in Poland,'' Ekwueme said to Przegląd Sportowy.
''Our team is stronger than it was. In the World Cup qualifiers they did well. Our team defeated Argentina 4-2 in a friendly.
