Ex-Arsenal GK Fabiański On Nigeria : They Are Always Well Prepared Physically
Published: March 20, 2018Speaking at a press conference attended by our colleagues at Przegląd Sportowy on Tuesday afternoon, former Arsenal star Łukasz Fabiański believes that playing against Nigeria will be a good test for the Polish national team before their World Cup opener against Senegal on June 19.
The Swansea City goalkeeper says the Super Eagles have some individual stars in their ranks and is also impressed with the physicality of the team.
''The game against Nigeria will be a valuable test for us. I remember from the friendly match against Côte d'Ivoire that they are teams that have high-level individual players in their ranks,'' Fabiański said.
''They are always well prepared physically. It will be a very good test and good preparation for matches at the World Cup.''
Poland coach Adam Nawałka could start with three central defenders against Nigeria on Friday at the Municipal Stadium.
''Since I was in Swansea, I had 8 or 9 coaches. Each of them had a different idea for the team. I experienced all possible formations, in the last period of time we play three central defenders and this is a much more offensive setting.
''It's a cool and effective way to play the game. We will see if we will be able to practice something else in these friendly matches.''
Poland will have their first workout this evening, starting from 1830 hours, at the old Śląsk Wrocław Stadium, Oporowska street.
