Official: Super Eagles Defender Dele Adeleye Joins Third Russian Club
Published: February 22, 2018Super Eagles central defender Dele Adeleye ,29, has joined his third Russian Premier League club in the last five years.
FC SKA-Khabarovsk have informed through a press release that they have concluded an agreement with Adeleye, without disclosing the duration and financial terms of the deal.
The Shooting Stars product previously represented Russian clubs Kuban Krasnodar and Anzhi Makhachkala and wore the jerseys of Metalurh Donetsk and Tavriya Simferopol in Ukraine before his move to Russia.
Dele Adeleye's other teams include Sparta Rotterdam, Ergotelis, OFI Crete and Aktobe.
He was a member of the Flying Eagles squad at the 2005 Fifa U20 World Cup and was given the task of marking Barcelona's Lionel Messi in the showpiece game of the tournament which Nigeria lost.
Three years later, Adeleye played every single match for the Dream Team at the 2008 Olympic Games, helping Nigeria contest the gold medal match.
Regarded as one of Nigeria's finest young defenders back in the day, Adeleye was named to the Super Eagles roster for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
